As we are kicking off 2018, we have some exciting studio news we wanted to share.
Wells posted the following announcement: "In recognition of his expanded role, contributing on critical, studio level decisions, Neil Druckmann is now Vice President of Naughty Dog". He's been a vital part of the management team for some time now, and we're proud to formally acknowledge his involvement. Naughty Dog has announced new roles for several individuals at the company, including new co-directors for the upcoming Last of Us Part II. Even though the game hasn't come out yet, it has already stirred some controversy regarding its violent content. Critics decried a teaser trailer for the game that came out late a year ago for being too violent while others defended the trailer's content as appropriate considering the context of the game's story.
Druckmann will remain the creative director of the game, though Newman and Margenau's appointment will likely see his role reduced in order to accommodate his new position as vice president. Please join me in giving them all a big congratulations!
