Mets minute: Tim Tebow sent to Double-A Binghamton
Tim Tebow has his 2018 assignment: the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, which is the Class AA affiliate of the Mets, USA Today reported.
Tebow, 30, got the promotion despite hitting.056 (1-for-18 with 11 strikeouts) in major league spring training. He struggled at the plate, hitting just.226 with eight home runs and 56 RBIs in 430 at-bats across two Class A levels.
The Rumble Ponies have not officially confirmed the announcement.
