2019 Toyota Yaris
Eliminating any traces of the ill-fated Scion brand, Toyota is calling its Mazda-based subcompact the Yaris sedan for the 2019 model year. The Yaris C-segment sedan, which has its bookings opened already, will be offered for customers next month with a commercial launch and it will compete in a hotly-contested segment run by Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna.
Now that the vehicle is the Yaris Sedan, it will be available in L, LE, and XLE trims commonly seen across the Toyota lineup, with standard equipment including a 7.0-inch multimedia system with voice recognition and a low-speed pre-collision safety system.
Each and every 2019 Yaris sedan sold will come complete with a 7.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system with voice recognition, remote interface, steering wheel controls, and Bluetooth connectivity. Also standard is cruise control and push-button start. Buyers can still choose between a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
In a similar case to the LE trim, the XLE also comes equipped with turn indicator mounted Outside Rear View Mirrors, rear lip spoiler and heated outside mirrors, etc. A new XLE grade tops the lineup with leatherette-trimmed front seats, automatic LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, illuminated entry, HVAC system with auto climate control, and a leather-trimmed steering wheel, shifter, and parking brake.

There is a variety of engine options provided including a 1.5-litre four-cylinder motor which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 106 horsepower and 140 Nm of peak torque.
There's no word on whether Apple CarPlay will be included, as it was in the 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchback. Drivers can even opt for Sport driving mode. That means 35 miles per gallon combined for the automatic and 34 combined with the manual. Prices have yet to be announced.
To go along with the name change, the 2019 Yaris sedan gets a few styling upgrades.
