"Basically either it's Toys R Us or you go to specialized and very expensive toy shops that sell, for example, wooden toys that come from very far away countries like in Europe", she said.

Fierce competition in the toy segment ultimately led to its demise, including competition from Walmart, Target and Amazon. The plan had been to take the company public again, but weak sales have prevented that from happening.
