Two fall to their deaths from New York-bound plane
The airport personnel at Guayaquil scurried to the runway as they noticed three objects falling out of LATAM Airlines flight and landing with a thud, fearing the NY bound plane to Ecuador had lost important parts.
The pair, who are thought to be 25 and 30 years old, were on a plane bound for NY from the coastal city of Guayaquil in Ecuador.
Police would not reveal the identities or nationalities of the men, but said they likely fainted or were ejected during take-off. The first one had a pulse, but died minutes later. A suitcase with clothes and about NZ$30 also was found.
"What is known is that the plane came from Peru", Bastamante told the newspaper.
