The body of the victim, identified as Douglas Bowling, was found in an orange grove with his hand cut off.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said Saturday at a news conference that he believes Taylor may have killed others.
Christopher Taylor was accused of providing false information to detectives during the investigation. Two other people, 21-year-old Gary Taylor and 36-year-old Kristina Sluss, were charged with accessory after the fact and tampering with evidence.
Bowing and the three suspects were all from Winter Haven, and knew each other, Polk sheriff's officials said. The father then told investigators he forced himself inside and found the victims dead.
An arrest affidavit states that Gary Taylor and Sluss told detectives Bowling came to the shared apartment of Sluss and Christopher Taylor the morning of February 10 and repeatedly asked Christopher to take him to the bank. According to deputies, Christopher told Bowling to shut up and said he would finish him. An affidavit says the three then left for dinner before returning to dump the body.
The sheriff said Taylor told Sluss after the SC murders that he didn't cut "that boy's" head off, but nearly did.
Christopher Taylor, 31, and Kristina Sluss, 36, face three counts of murder in the January 19 deaths of Fred Richards, 59, Francis Richards, 59, and Nathan Poffenberger, 23, in Landrum.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd is expected to discuss the additional charges during a briefing at Polk State College's Winter Haven Campus on Saturday.
Judd says Taylor shows signs of being a serial killer.
"I don't believe for a moment that when you look at this guy that there may be all of the people he's murdered", he said.
And now, Sheriff Judd needs the communities' help. "If there is another victim who - maybe they have disappeared, no one has heard from them, but one of these two individuals has been in your community".
