Kiev starts seizure of Russia's Gazprom assets in Ukraine
The PM had a meeting with Pavlo Petrenko, Ukraine's Justice Minister, where he stated that the Anti-Monopoly Committee of Ukraine imposed a fine on Gazprom for monopoly abuse on the gas market in Ukraine.
The Kremlin-controlled firm is appealing against the decision, but in the meantime Kiev has ordered officials to seize Gazprom property and shares in Ukraine under separate rulings by the country's anti-monopoly authorities.
Ukraine has begun the process of seizing foreign assets of the Russian energy giant for its violation of the Ukrainian anti-trust legislation. That is why Ukraine started describing and arresting Ukrainian assets in Gazprom.
"In this situation with Gazprom, Ukraine's position should be tough and consistent", said Ukrainian prime minister Volodymyr Groysman.
