"The hotel personnel came up to me at 10.30 pm and requested to discuss some details with me in my room". "Preliminary probe has revealed that the fraudster has used her name, address details and her photo to book the room online".
Rautela asked her secretary, who denied having made any booking at the hotel. She later found that her Aadhar card details had been misused by someone.
An FIR under sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery) of IPC and relevant sections of the IT Act has been filed against the suspect, who is now untraceable. A source said CCTV cameras have captured the woman's movements. Followed by this, the actress approached the Bandra police station for help and filed a legal complaint. I was surprised. Co-incidentally, Rautela was at the same hotel for a professional meeting when the hotel staff informed her that a room had been booked in her name in the hotel through an online portal. The details were apparently misused to book a hotel room in a star hotel in Bandra. When the actress was informed about this, she was attending a meeting at the hotel. When the staff tried to stop her at the hotel exits, she made her way to the basement and ran away from there. "She was last seen wearing a burkha", she added while narrating the incident.
The Aadhaar card, issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), carries a 12-digit unique identification number.
