Referee Deniz Aytekin checks the VAR on the penalty decision during England's friendly against Italy
Vardy started Tuesday's game in the absence of Harry Kane, but in a two-man attack along with Raheem Sterling, and he believed the partnership worked well.
"It is okay to come up and say VAR is in use but no-one knows what it is going on".
Leicester City striker Vardy feels confusion around VAR is not helping players or fans ahead of its implementation at the World Cup in Russian Federation and thinks displaying more information on stadium screens could be a way forward.
The Burnley man's tussle with Federico Chiesa in the box initially went unpunished but led to the equalising penalty after German official Deniz Aytekin ran to the side of the field to review the footage.
"That's the worst thing about it, not just for players but for fans as well", he said. "Most of it is down to players and supporters not knowing what is going on".
"They use it in other sports when they can put it on the big screen so everyone can see what the video ref is looking at". I happened to think it was, but that's not the point.
"I remember a game a few weeks back when Rochdale played Spurs at Wembley and the players were standing about for ages it seemed, two or three minutes, before a decision was made".
Lorenzo Insigne converted an 87th-minute penalty at Wembley
Speaking about the penalty incident after the match, England boss Gareth Southgate said: "I think the ruling is "clear and obvious" and this is not".
However, after consulting the VAR he ruled that James Tarkowski had stepped on Chiesa's foot, and therefore gave the penalty which Lorenzo Insigne converted.
England manager Gareth Southgate complained Aytekin's initial decision wasn't a case of a "clear and obvious" error.
This use of VAR gave us a little preview of just how severely it could take away from the enjoyment of watching the World Cup this summer. It's just one of those things we have to deal with and, hopefully, it will be spot on come the World Cup. Some other counties have already got it in their leagues and it's worked for them.
"They don't want to go to VAR all the time to change the decision they have made, so it's all about practice".
"It's still down to the referees to try to get to the right decision in the first place - there is pressure on them too".
