The billboard near Interstate 15 is about 3.5 miles (5.6 kilometres) from Mandalay Bay resort, where a gunman fired more than 1,000 shots from 32nd-floor windows into the crowd at an open air concert before killing himself.
Battlefield Vegas, which boasts having more than 350 different weapons, including assault rifles, told BuzzFeed News it had no comment about the vandalism.
A guerrilla art collective has hijacked a Las Vegas billboard advertising a gun range in protest over America's "obsession with gun culture".
The spokesman said the billboard action also took inspiration from the February 14 school shooting that left 17 people dead in Parkland, Florida.

A billboard near Interstate 15 and Spring Mountain Road in Las Vegas was found vandalized early Thursday morning. The billboard was reportedly removed around 9 a.m. local time.
INDECLINE's spokesperson said the group usually receives criticism, but has "been flooded with support and donations" after Thursday's act.
It said "Shoot A School Kid Only $29".
The billboard was for Battlefield Vegas, a shooting range in Las Vegas.
INDECLINE, an American activist art group composed of graffiti writers, filmmakers, photographers, claimed the vandalism Thursday and provided a video online that shows two members of the group making changes to the sign at night. They also spray painted a message that reads, "defend lives, reform laws". Check back for updates.
