The identities of the participants were confirmed by Virginia Tech women's lacrosse coach John Sung, who referred to the incident and resulting outrage as "a teachable moment".
And, once again, some folks will engage in faux ambiguity by asking why a group of white girls chanting the N-word to Lil' Dicky's "Freaky Friday" is just not a good look. "The team is very apologetic and sorry", he told the publication.
"There's nobody of any color that should say it".
"There was no malice involved", Sung said.

And I know that we'll never make it right with anybody, but...this is a moment that defines this program but yet a moment that will help this program be better. It's clear in the clip that several of the players knew they were being filmed and made eye contact with the camera. "People forget - I'm a minority".
Virginia Tech's director of athletics, Whit Babcock, and women's lacrosse coaches Sung and Amanda Shimp did not immediately return Newsweek's requests for comment.
There have been no mention of if the team will face disciplinary action for using racial slurs.
