WhatsApp start to push-out the new update to iPhone users last night.

First thing that should be noted is, the iPhone users will need to upgrade their WhatsApp application to latest version 2.18.30 for iPhone.

The update also includes the ability to search participants using the new Search feature in Group Info, and the ability to request to download the personal data WhatsApp holds on you (related to European General Data Protection Regulation.) This could take up to 20 days, however, with users being notified when the report is available.

WhatsApp is reportedly working on group voice call as well.

The updated WhatsApp for iPhone comes with time and location stickers that you can add to your photos or videos. To give a background, Instagram lets you add time and location stickers along with other interesting stickers to photos and videos that you share as Instagram stories which vanish after 24 hours. Apps such as Instagram and Snapchat are already offering similar stickers that can be added to photos and videos.

WhatsApp's new stickers are fairly limited, with only two designs to choose from for the location sticker, and the choice of either an analogue or digital clock for the timestamp.

Previously, WhatsApp only allowed users add emoji to their photos and videos on WhatsApp. Tap on the "Photo & Video Library" option and then select a media file, either a photo or a video that you'd like to add the sticker to and share with your contacts. There is also an option to search for participants of a group. You can also remove any stickers simply by dragging and dropping them in the bin icon placed on the top-left corner. WhatsApp seems to be rolling out the update in a phased manner to a select number of iPhone users, meaning that some iPhone users may not have yet got the update. This feature basically let you search for group participants and easily message them on private chat. The app is 154.9MB in size and is compatible with iPhone models running iOS 7.0 or later.
