Caesars Windsor Casino Cancels Canadian Band Performance Over Sexual Harassment Allegations
Both took to Twitter to announce an indefinite leave of absence from their music careers after the many allegations that have trickled in on sexual misconduct with minors, rape, and general poor behaviour.
"Knowing this band is still on tour and many cities, including my own, are refusing to take action is disgusting".
Allegations of sexual misconduct by members of the Canadian pop-rock band have been shared by female fans on social media over the past few weeks, and on February 25, an Ottawa woman accused Jacob Hoggard, the band's lead singer, of rape.
In her letter she wrote, "The inaction of the city to cancel this concert proves this decision is purely financially driven". Hoggard's lawyer told CBC News the encounter was consensual.
The announcement comes after anonymous sexual misconduct allegations against the Vancouver band began emerging online earlier this month.
On Feb. 28, Hoggard released a statement on Twitter denying ever engaging in non-consensual sexual behaviour but conceded that over the past 13 years, he has behaved in ways that objectifies women. The band have faced numerous allegations, including a recent CBC report accusing Jacob Hoggard of rape and allegations that Hoggard inappropriately touched a Calgary radio host.

Via Twitter the group published a statement that the decision was taken unanimously.
