Davis Confident Cousins Will Re-sign with Pelicans
It's possible the Pelicans will have to go for No. 11 without their career scoring leader.
The New Orleans Pelicans announced that power forward Anthony Davis won't be in uniform Friday night against the Washington Wizards after he was diagnosed with a sprained left ankle.
Davis (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Jazz, Scott Kushner of The Baton Rouge Advocate reports. "I don't know that for sure".
Davis did some "light stuff" in the Pelicans' practice Saturday and the team will re-evaluate the injured ankle before Sunday's game. He did not return and appeared to be getting fitted for a walking boot after the game.
Averaging 30.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 8.9 assists per contest for the Western Conference-leading Houston Rockets, Harden has arguably been the most consistently-elite player this season.
Without Davis and center DeMarcus Cousins, the Pelicans will have lean heavily on recently acquired center Emeka Okafor and on forwards Nikola Mirotic and Cheick Diallo, who have been major contributors during the streak.
Luis Robert will miss the rest of Spring Training
