Speaking on the incident, Zodwa told TshisaLIVE that she arrived in Zambia late on Friday night ahead of a scheduled performance in the country on Saturday evening. I won't change who I am for them. They didn't give me any reasons. I think our promoters were also in the dark.

Zodwa is popular for her tight dress and for not wearing underwear while performing. Munakampe said she had flown out at 0520 GMT on a South African Airways flight. A year ago then Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe hauled her over the coals and stopped her from performing in the country.

Following a backlash, censorship authorities later backtracked and allowed Wabantu to perform at a private venue, but she refused to go saying she was afraid.
