Police in Sauk Rapids haven't returned a phone message seeking comment. No one else was hurt. The victims are out of the hospital and at home recovering. While police described the injuries as minor, two students were cut in the back of the head and required stitches.
The 13-year-old victim was waiting for a transfer bus to the middle school when they were attacked.
Beise says the student was released to his parents and won't likely face charges because he's so young. The Times reports the school still had classes after the stabbing.
Police Chief Perry Beise says the boy then went into the office and set the knife down.
"Hopefully he'll get some treatment", Beise said.
But many parents told the St. Cloud Times that they aren't happy with the school's response to the knife attack. Sauk Rapids police raced to Pleasant View Elementary School after receiving a 911 call around 7:15 a.m. Pleasantview has 720 students in kindergarten through fifth grade, according to the school district's website. The Minnesota elementary school student was arrested and released later that day.

A teacher who witnessed the incident managed to grab the attacker's knife before calling the authorities.
"This morning we had an unfortunate incident that happened before school started". A Pleasantview primary-aged student entered the building and upon putting away his backpack, he pulled out a knife and began striking students with it. The incident lasted approximately 5 minutes and resulted in three students being injured and the aggressor was contained in the office. School officials immediately called police and an ambulance service.
A 19-year-old former student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, is accused of bringing an assault rifle to the school in February and killing 17 students and staff members.
