Apple Launching Battery Replacement Program For 13 inch Mac Book Pro Laptops

Apple announced a 13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar) Battery Replacement Program Friday. In any case, the company is promising to replace eligible batteries for free.

However note that this doesn't affect all 13-inch non-Touch Bar MacBook Pro models, but rather a small number of them.

Apple will determine the eligibility for fix through a device's serial number. The company later apologised and lowered the price of battery replacements for affected models to $29 from $79. Users can find the unique number on the surface of the MacBook and on its packaging. You can use the serial number checker at the link below to see if your device qualifies for this program. To find your MacBook's serial number, click on the Apple logo in the Menu Bar and select "About this Mac", scroll to the bottom of the information window to get the serial number.

After iPhone, it's now reported that Apple will offer battery replacement programme for its MacBook Pro laptops.

While this sounds risky, Apple claims it isn't a safety issue. After that, it's a matter of 3 to 5 days for service to take place. Apple found itself in hot waters past year after it admitted to deliberately throttling performance of older iPhones in order to extend the life of the chemically degrading battery. "We apologize", Apple said at the time.

Somehow Apple can't seem to shake off battery troubles with its devices.

Despite a slew of battery-related problems, Apple has managed to remain in control of most situations unlike Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, which resulted in a multi-billion-dollar write-off for the South Korean tech titan.
