Yadier Molina tries to fight manager in benches-clearing face-off

A cold, blustering day in St. Louis heated up in a hurry, with St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina and Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo providing the fireworks.

Lovullo was disputing a called third strike on A.J. Pollock on Sunday and got into a shouting match with St. Louis catcher Yadier Molina during the argument with Timmons.

As you can see, Molina pretty well lost it.

Molina moved toward Lovullo before they were separated and the benched cleared. Presumably, that means a suspension will be forthcoming.

The D-backs skipper was ejected for arguing balls and strikes in the top of the second inning but apparently said something that upset Molina, who charged in Lovullo's direction.

We have our first bench-clearing incident of the 2018 Major League Baseball season, and it's about as odd as it gets.
