Wenger announced on Friday that he will be standing down as manager of the north London club this summer, bringing an end to a spell that has spanned nearly 22 years. The manager for the club for 22 years added that he managed Arsenal with full commitment and integrity.

'I will always see you as my footballing father where under your guidance I had the chance to grow as a man and a player, I'm forever thankful for that.

"I think he could maybe acquire a job as a manager [director of football], but he could also return as a coach of another team in today's football".

Announcing his departure from the club, Wenger urged fans to remember the "values" with which the club was founded on and said that he will love and support Arsenal forever.

Arsenal's majority shareholder Stan Kroenke paid tribute to a man of "unparalleled class".

"Sad day for @Arsenal with Arsene leaving, can we now give him the send-off/respect he deserves?!"

Cash crunch still a problem for people, cashless ATMs see long queues

How does the NFL Draft Work?
For his part, it sounds like Barkley actually wouldn't mind the challenge that playing for the Cleveland Browns presents. Saquon Barkely and the Giants could be destined for each other unless the Browns jump out and draft him first overall.

The 68-year-old Wenger won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups for the north London side.

A respected figure in European football, Wenger has struggled to win a Premier League title since the historic 2003/04 season where he led the club to an unbeaten season, which has since been dubbed as the "Invincibles" season.

The most notable of course are Tony Adams, Thierry Henry, Denis Bergkamp, Marc Overmars, and the latest to be linked with replacing Wenger is Patrick Vieira. The only hope for any silverware this season is the Europa League, and winning that competition would automatically qualify the Gunners into the UEFA Champions League.

Who will Arsenal bring in as a replacement?

"We have high ambitions to build on Arsène's remarkable tenure and to honour his vision by ensuring that Arsenal competes for and wins the biggest and most important prizes in the game".

The Gunners will take on West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday at The Emirates, before turning their attentions towards the first leg of their crunch Europa League clash against Atletico Madrid on Thursday night. Since then Arsenal had won the FA Cup on three occasions and their trysts at the Champions League fared poorly. Very doubtful as NYCFC's and Arsenal's season end far apart and with NYCFC's recent run, Vieira is here to stay.
