Carl Frampton's Saturday fight against Nonito Donaire will be broadcast live on BBC radio
Carl Frampton earned the interim WBO Featherweight Title with a clear unanimous decision victory over former four-division world champion Nonito Donaire from SSE Arena in Belfast in a bout that was streamed live to USA audiences via SHOWTIME Sports YouTube Channel and SHOWTIME Boxing Facebook Page.
"The Jackal" has been calling for a big night at Windsor Park and played his part with an impressive display that suggested he is back to his best, the 117-111, 117-111, 117-111 scoring leaving him and his fans in a packed SSE Arena looking forward to bigger nights.
From a U.S. perspective both fights will also draw interest given the star status of Khan, Lo Greco operating in the United States previously - and Frampton and Donaire's fights in the past in the US.
Today's fight represents Frampton's second with new trainer Jamie Moore and new promoter Frank Warren, who considers Donaire the finest fighter he has brought to the United Kingdom since Cuba's Guillermo Rigondeaux in 2016. The victory puts Frampton in position to challenge WBO Featherweight Champion Oscar Valdez, who is recovering from injury following his fourth title defense, a unanimous decision win over Scott Quigg on March 10.
"The 11th round, I was definitely hurt, but that's what champions do", Frampton said.
