Northern Ontario man 'getting heart back' during walk for Humboldt

A GoFundMe page dedicated to the hockey team raised around $14 million in the 10 days since it launched.

The tragic collision between the Broncos team bus and a semi on April 6 on a Saskatchewan highway killed 16 people on the Broncos' bus. It was started by Humboldt's Sylvie Kellington. Since then nearly 140,000 people have donated.

The campaign is believed to be the largest and most successful Canadian initiative in the crowdfunding site's history.

The campaign's initial goal was to raise $5,000 but it quickly took off as Canadians collectively mourned the many young lives lost or destroyed in the crash.

The GoFundMe campaign closes tonight at 11:59 p.m.
