National Weather Service crews were dispatched to several locations around the region Monday morning to survey the damage done by yesterday's severe weather.

The Weather Service forecasts a slight chance of more rain Wednesday night, then highs of about 80 by the weekend. The tornado damaged a mobile home and uprooted trees as it crossed James road and Ridge road.

By early Monday afternoon, more than 4,000 electric customers were still without service.

The only Lowcountry county under a tornado watch until 11 p.m. was Williamsburg County.

One person died in Sunday's storm, and thousands were left without power because of fallen trees and downed power lines and utility poles.

The weather service in SC said tornadoes also hit Lexington and Irmo, but no serious injuries were reported.

The numbers aren't final, according to Michael Brown, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in North Little Rock.

Paul, Minnesota, the April monthly record for snowfall of 21.8 inches (55 cm) was surpassed on Saturday, the National Weather Service said.

Hail reports were less common than damaging wind reports, but hailstones up to the size of tennis balls fell near Hillsville in Carroll County.

Rainfall was heaviest northwest of Richmond, which is causing the James River to rise.
