Seventeen-year-old blue heeler Max stayed with the child through a rainy night before leading family and rescuers to her Saturday morning after more than 15 hours in the wild.
Leisa (the child's grandmother) heard Aurora's voice, then found Max first.
'For keeping her safe until she was found, you're now an honorary police dog!'
A family in Australia is going to be forever thankful to their 17-year-old blue heeler for saving their daughter's life.
Mr Phipps said Aurora suffered minor cuts and abrasions but was otherwise well and it was a wonderful outcome for the family and searchers.
"The area around the house is quite mountainous and is very inhospitable terrain to go walking in", Bennett's partner Kelly Benston told the news channel, "so she'd traveled quite a distance with her dog that was quite loyal to her".
"With the weather last night it's quite lucky she is well because it was cold, it was cold and raining", he said.
In fact, Max was that much of a good boy that he has been made an honorary police dog by Queensland police.

Ian Phipps, the area controller for the State Emergency Service - the organisation that arranged the search - said that they eventually found Aurora and Max about two kilometres from the house she had wandered off from, but still on family property in Cherry Gulch, near Warwick, Queensland.
After a long and fruitless evening, police suspended the search of the property at 1am this morning.
Aurora's grandmother, Leisa Bennett, spoke about her emotional reunion with her lost grandchild.
"When I heard her yell "Grammy" I knew it was her", she said. "Found around 7:30am by Leisa Marie Bennett and Jaime Tatterton", he posted on Facebook.
Aurora's uncle, Jake Miller was the first to spot the three-year-old with a family dog.
"He didn't leave her side".
Ambulance officers assessed Aurora before she was transported back to Warwick for a quiet day at home.
"I would really like to thank the traditional owners", Mrs Bennett said. "That's what helped us find her".
