Fire crews are fighting five new wind-swept wildfires around Colorado as hurricane-force winds also kick up dust, topple trucks and close highways in the state. The fire is burning west of Pine Creek Rd. and east of Rainbow Creek Rd.

Surrounding homes were evacuated and the fire has since been contained.

Colorado 67 southwest of Sedalia is still closed.

Multiple fire agencies responded to a fire on North Foxtail Drive in Castle Rock where two homes were destroyed and multiple homes were damaged.

Further south, crews are mopping up a wildland fire near Tomah Road and Dawson Butte.

A pre-evacuation order was been sent to residents.
