Freeney calls it a career will retire Monday as a Colt

One of the greatest pass rushers in the game will sign a one-day contract to retire as a member of the Colts, where he spent the bulk of his career and won a Super Bowl. He will be part of a formal news conference on Monday in Indianapolis. He had begun his career four straight seasons with at least 11.0 sacks while tallying double-digit sack totals seven times during his tenure with his total of 107.5 ranking second all-time in franchise history behind Robert Mathis (123.0).

Freeney was a 7-time Pro Bowler and a three-time first-team All-Pro.

After 16 seasons in the NFL, Dwight Freeney is ready to call it a career.

Freeney was the 11th overall pick out of Syracuse in 2002 and played 11 seasons with Indianapolis. Among those eligible to be inducted, only one player (San Diego's Leslie O'Neal, 132.5) is not a Hall of Famer.

Instead, tests on the wrist showed no structural damage. "Hopefully he's OK", starter Brandon McCarthy said of Freeman. The team had feared Freeman might have fractured the same wrist for a second straight season.

First the chlorine, then chaos and death in Syria attack
He was referring to the rebel fighters who controlled Douma until the Syrian army took it back about a week ago. On Tuesday, there had been conflicting reports about whether the OPCW experts had arrived in Douma.

Freeney had 8.0 sacks in a one-year stint with the Arizona Cardinals in 2015 and 3.0 for the Atlanta Falcons in 2016, almost helping the team to a Super Bowl title.

The 38-year-old also played with Chargers, Cardinals, Falcons, Seahawks and Lions.

His sack total ties for 17th in National Football League history - not bad for a 6-foot defensive end whose height was questioned coming out of high school in CT and again during draft time.
