Barzagli injury adds to Juventus' problems

Paulo Dybala scored a hat-trick as Juventus beat Serie A's bottom side Benevento to go seven points clear at the top overnight.

Dybala made a 16th-minute breakthrough, collecting a pass on the edge of the penalty area and from 15 yards sending a left-footed shot from the right of goal into the far corner, beyond the reach of Christian Puggioni.

Dybala, who will miss the trip to Madrid after being red-carded in the first leg, opened the scoring after quarter of an hour and got the second just before the break for a penalty awarded after consultation with the video assistant referee (VAR).

Juventus striker Paulo Dybala was pleased with victory over Benevento.

But six minutes later Benevento were level after Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny saved a Filip Djuricic effort only for Diabate to tap in the rebound.

Second-placed Napoli - four points behind Juventus - will need a win at 14th-placed Chievo after being held 1-1 at Sassuolo last weekend if they want to keep their push for their first title since 1990 alive.
