"The Bull will nearly certainly be moved and will very likely wind up reunited with Fearless Girl", de Blasio's spokesman, Eric Phillips, wrote on Twitter.
Fearless Girl, a defiant statue placed by State Street to promote its gender diversity ETF, is moving from its place next to the iconic Charging Bull to in front of the New York Stock Exchange.
De Blasio and State Street said the move will be "long-term", and completed by the end of the year.
The Fearless Girl statue was originally installed for International Women's Day in March 2017 and became a quick attraction, drawing thousands of spectators and activists who even dressed up the four-foot bronze girl in a sash to support the Paris Climate Agreement.
