City entered derby day on the back of a 3-0 reversal against Liverpool in the first leg of a Champions League quarter-final tie.

Guardiola was sticking to his story after the derby after Raiola, who did not deny offering City the players, insisted he had not spoken with the Catalan.

"It's hard to play against City because they press really well and are compact and their transition is really strong".

Just before the game had taken place, Pogba posted an image on twitter of him cupping his ears as if he were bemused by Guardiola's claim that he could have signed for City in the summer. Mourinho will know he still has a lot of ground to make up if United are going to be champions next season.
