Arnold Schwarzenegger stable after heart surgery; recovering Terminator star quips, 'I'm back'
On Monday, April 2, 2018, the Terminator star took to Twitter to update concerned fans on his condition after undergoing emergency open-heart surgery late last week.
The actor underwent a procedure last week to replace his pulmonic valve for the second time, and awoke afterward to announce, "I'm back", his representative said at the time.
The original replacement pulmonic valve, which Schwarzenegger received in 1997, outlasted its life expectancy, so the former California governor chose to have valve replacement by catheter, spokesman Daniel Ketchell said in a statement on Twitter. "I woke up, and that's something to be thankful for", the 7o-year-old actor and former California governor captioned his post on Instagram.
"Thank you to the doctors & nurses", he tweeted. When the catheter procedure was unsuccessful, a team of doctors performed open-heart surgery to replace the valve. "And I'm truly filled with gratitude for all of the kind messages", he then added.

As Radar reported, the Kindergarten Cop star was at Cedars-Sinai Hospital March 29, for a catheter valve replacement, when he suffered some complications during the procedure and the valve replacement failed.
