Gunmen kill police officer kidnap German engineer in Kano

Unknown assailants yesterday killed a police sergeant and abducted a German engineer with Dantata and Sawoe construction company, Mr. Michael Cremza, in Kano State.

Moses Yamu, said four riot policemen were killed by the "insurgents".

A resident who witnessed the incident said he saw the abductors bundling the German into their vehicle, while shooting in the air.

Another security personnel in charge of securing the equipment of the construction company, Abuabakar Muhammad, told journalists that the incident occurred on Monday morning when they were about commencing the day's activities.

"They shot the Police at Sabon Titi, a scarcely populated area in Kano, killing the Police and abducted the German, "the eyewitness who pleaded for an anonymity said".
