US, British and French forces pounded Iran's ally Syria with air strikes early on Saturday in retaliation for a suspected April 7 chemical weapons attack, which they blame on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government.

During the Wednesday meeting with Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci on Wednesday, Mr. Hassan Rouhani said, "Fortunately in recent years, relations between the two countries have been developing in all fields of mutual interest and we should continue along this path to serve both nations' interests". "We have not been waiting... and will not wait for your remarks or agreement", said Rouhani at a military parade in Tehran to mark the annual Army Day.

The Iranian president stressed to neighboring countries that the weapons were not meant to be used on them, saying "we do not intend any aggression against you".
