3 Iranian Security Forces Killed in Clash near Pakistan Border

On April 12, a group of 15 Pakistanis belonging to different cities of Pakistan tried to illegally enter Iran, Express Tribune reported.

The Public Relations Department of the IRGC, in a statement, said a terrorist cell mounted an attack against a military post in Mirjaveh on the border between Iran and Pakistan on 1:30 am (local time) and attempted to capture the post from the Iranian border guards.

Five others were arrested by Iranian security forces.

The Iranian Border Force fired on the people who crossed the border, killing two.

Gwadar Assistant Commissioner Jameel Ahmed told Dawn that Iranian officials handed over the two bodies as well as the five arrested men to the Levies authorities at the border.

The deceased were identified as Shahzeb Khan and Sadiq Khan, both residents of Bannu.

Those who were arrested were also moved to Gwadar. Last year, 20 people from Punjab were killed by a banned organisation in Turbat after they were kidnapped.

The cross-border attack comes a day after Iran's security forces seized a large amount of weapons stock and ammunition from militants in the province.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards described the incident as a terrorist attack, and said three people were killed by Iranian security forces in a "firm and timely response".

The Mehr agency stated, citing the statement of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), that clashes between border guards and terrorists occurred after an ambush on a border post in Mirjaveh.
