In that relatively new space, Amazon is fighting the likes of Google, with Amazon's Echo range of speakers launching late past year to take on the Google's Home speakers, and both offered a similar proposition: music speakers that are always listening and can take your words, turning them into instructions to other devices, to searches online, or to answers that the speaker can read to you. Or, just as you ask Alexa to turn off the lights, now she can show your security camera feed. The Echo Spot is diminutive in size, but not in power. For example for a home with Alexa setup in the majority, they can choose to use Alexa, but a household that uses Google Home and Google Assistant devices, then obviously Google Assistant might be preferred.
Available for pre-order today from amazon.com.au/echospot, the Amazon Echo Spot comes in black or white and is available for pre-orders starting today for $199 (RRP) or through select retailers including JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, and Myer. Devices will ship to customers and be available at retailers beginning 26 April, 2018.
