Overwatch director plays PUBG a lot, but we may never see a battle royale mode in the game
It's now called "Overwatch Archives", and you can play in Story Mode or All Heroes Mode.
That's obviously not an announcement of any kind but it does imply that creating a brand new game, or even an Overwatch spin-off, may be one of the options that Blizzard has already considered.
"Our primary engagement distance is usually around 15 to 40 meters", Kaplan explained, adding "Part of what makes Fortnite and PUBG so awesome is that you can have these really long engagement distances". Then Fortnite introduced the mode in a very short span. Both of the executives assured that the Uprising event would bear a close resemblance to last year's event, but is titled Overwatch Archives.
Blizzard also teased that the new Uprising mission will have "new content" that the developer will discuss later.
This year's event will also be called "Overwatch Archives".

This is the same King's Row mission as past year, but now it has a new name and modes. Uprising was Overwatch's first real PvE game type after defend the gate mission for Junkenstein around Halloween.
Overwatch's Uprising anniversary event looks to be adding a second mission onto one previously available to players.
Despite the fact that Kaplan is interested in a battle royale mode, and Activision Blizzard has said it's actively looking into bringing the phenomenon into its own games, it's probably going to be a while before we see it come to Overwatch.
This may all sound familiar to players who enjoyed last year's Uprising Event, but Overwatch Archives has some new additions to offer players to keep the event interesting.
Though Kaplan didn't give away much about the upcoming event, he did hint at a new skin for "your favourite Shimada brother" - meaning either Genji or Hanzo. In saying this, Kaplan further teases players about a new game mode, but leaves players in suspense until the event actually drops.
