Inconvenient whiteout: Jets' flight diverted by massive snowstorm

After losing two tightly contested games to the Jets in Winnipeg last week, the Minnesota Wild were in danger of being buried like the snow-bound city they returned to over the weekend. Through 85 regular season outings, 42 of its games have gone over the total, while 41 have gone under and just two have pushed.

Former Capitals center Mathieu Perreault was knocked out of the Winnipeg Jets' playoff opener against the Minnesota Wild, Wednesday night. In the playoffs, the team is risen to an average of 38.3 shots on goal ( 3.0 goals per game). The crowd was all insane like in Winnipeg for the first two games.

On how the game was called: "The officiating, like the Jets" play, was also night-and-day from Games 1 and 2, where the decision apparently had been to just let the boys play. "And that's when the game changed". They will look to get back on track, but it will not be easy as the Wild are a good home team. And don't just chalk it up to home ice or the Jets' re-rerouted jets. "The foundation of our game is a certain amount of quickness". "We didn't move the puck well". "It's a loud building, so what we need to do is handle it".

The Wild were held without a shot on goal through the opening 15 minutes of the third period.

With a blast into the top corner, the 19-year-old Laine tied the game 53 seconds after Parise's goal gave the Wild its first lead. The goalie made 37 saves, his opposite number Connor Hellebuyck made just 18.

It came courtesy of Staal netting his first goal of the postseason, Greenway scoring the first National Hockey League goal, and Foligno getting rewarded for his play with a fortuitous bounce in front.

The Jets had their flight to Minneapolis diverted to Duluth Minnesota on Saturday after a massive winter storm hit the Midwest on the weekend.

Scheifele converted on a power play with 2:23 remaining in the second period.

"We've had moments all year where we've needed to respond at certain points in the regular season, so it's no different [now]", Stall said.

Sachin Tendulkar plays cricket on Mumbai streets with fans
He captioned the video saying, "When God himself alights to play street cricket . this is the true spirit of a Mumbaikar". In a short IPL career, Tendulkar played 78 games and scored 2,334 runs and had one hundred and 13 fifties to his name.

"No significant delays on vehicle or pedestrian traffic were reported, while additional food and beverages vendor services kept lines at a manageable level", said a statement from Economic Development Winnipeg, which hosted the party in co-ordination with True North Sports & Entertainment.

They weren't close to having their best game, their star goaltender was not himself and they may have lost workhorse defenceman Tyler Myers to injury.

"I think in reality we had seven pretty bad minutes from the time we scored the second goal to the third goal", coach Bruce Boudreau said. But the Jets answered quickly on Myers' blast from the right point that eluded Dubnyk on the stick side.

But the Wild went on a spree after that, scoring three goals before the period's end to take a commanding 6-2 lead.

The Jets committed their own fair share of mistakes in game one and most notably was their lackadaisical puck control in their own zone.

"When I came up I never really expected to be here (in the playoffs)", Seeler admitted. We had a time in Washington, one time we had a noon game, Pittsburgh couldn't get in, they bussed in 10 hours before the game and outplayed us really badly.

Winnipeg deserves great credit for turning this game around.

The second period went from bad to worse for the Jets, when Myers was checked by Foligno and caught his skate at the bottom of the boards. "It's the disease of slowness and that's what cost us the game".

Grabbing the win in game three was Devan Dubnyk, who stopped 29 of the 31 shots that he faced to improve to 8-16 with a 2.65 GAA and a.906 save percentage in the playoffs in his career.

In order to claw back into this series, they must clean up their game and increase their speed.
