Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has today confirmed that Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit will be reuniting after 25 years for epic new film "Kalank".
The movie will also witness Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt once again onscreen along with Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles.

Kalank is expected to go on floors later this month and is scheduled to be released on 19 April 2019. "A beautifully structured story by Shibani Bathija and an exceptionally fluid narrative and screenplay by Abhishek", Karan said about the film. "Sajid Nadiadwala shares, "'2 States" had released on April 18 in 2014, and "Kalank" begins its journey on the same date, four years later. The epic drama, set in the 1940s, is produced by Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment (NGE). Karan's father Yash had reportedly been hands-on with the research on the project as he was rumoured to have even travelled to Lahore to create a Pakistan from the '40s.

According to Trade Adarsh, the idea for the film was conceived 15 years ago.
Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt had been attached to the movie for a long time, and this is going to be their fourth collaboration with each other, following Student of the year, in which they debuted, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
