"If the Congress comes back to power, this storm will turn into a tsunami", he predicted.
"The Congress cannot take Karnataka on the path of development any further because its image has been soiled with corruption and the JD (S) does not have the ability to overthrow the Congress, because it can only win a few seats here and there", he said. "The relationship between corruption and the Congress party is akin to water and fish". "IT revenue generated in Bengaluru is not percolating to the rural masses in the state". Shah alleged that under Siddaramaiah, the law and order had failed and crime, including rape, murders and chain snatching had been increasing every day and the state police had failed to arrest the culprits behind the murders. I have not seen a govt as insensitive as this, which disappointingly says that farmer suicides are part of a conspiracy. "Why would anybody give up their lives for a conspiracy?"
Jayachandra said there was no question of breaking from the country, and described the BJPchief's remark as irresponsible.
But Tamil Nadu's E Palaniswamy is very much cosy with BJP government at the centre, while K Chandrashekar Rao of Telengana has been critical of both the BJP and the Congress.
