Knicks to meet with David Blatt, James Borrego about coaching vacancy
Since his playing career ended in 1997, Kenny Smith has been a fixture on National Basketball Association broadcasts, joining Turner's coverage in 1998.
According to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Ian Begley, it appears that the New York Knicks are going to interview David Blatt next week while simultaneously working to set up an interview with Spurs assistant coach James Borrego.
Reports suggest the men in contention for the job include former Memphis Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale, who was sacked in November after a 7-12 start to the season.
Add one more name to the growing list of Knicks' head coaching candidates. After another losing season, they made a decision to move on from Jeff Hornacek after two years. He led the Knicks to six playoff appearances, including the famous '99 season, when the Knicks became the only No. 8 seed in NBA history to reach the NBA Finals.
The former UNC point guard is the father of current point guard K.J. Smith who joined the Tar Heels this past season.

The expectation was that three of the four would interview this week, with Blatt's interview coming next week.
Smith is a native of Queens, New York and interviewed for the Knicks General Manager job in 2008.
