Konami and UEFA parting ways after 10 years

There are two key players in the soccer video game market: PES and Federation Internationale de Football Association. When the real-life Champions League concludes in May, the long-running agreement granting PES exclusive rights to the Champions League will also end.

Federation Internationale de Football Association have had the licenses for all the major leagues such as the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue One for as long as we can remember but the one thing missing from the game has been UEFA's competitions. However, that's going to change very soon.

It looks like the UEFA Champions League tournament will no longer appear in Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer.

UEFA's Marketing Director Guy-Laurent Epstein thanked Konami for its support during the "mutually beneficial partnership" and expressed interest in continued work with the publisher regarding "UEFA national team football".

Finally, DA Davidson reaffirmed a "buy" rating on shares of Chicago Bridge & Iron Company in a report on Monday, February 27th. The construction company reported $0.48 earnings per share for the quarter, beating the consensus estimate of $0.47 by $0.01.

Additionally, the Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Rams game will be played at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The announcement comes after last week's unveiling of the 2018 preseason schedule.

There's no word yet on whether or not EA will snag a deal with the UEFA for its "FIFA" franchise now that it's up for grabs.

The UEFA Champions League has been a major selling point of Konami's multi-million selling Pro Evolution Soccer franchise, which regularly goes head-to-head with Electronic Arts' FIFA series as the nation's footie favourite. This year, however, we will shift our focus into other areas.
