Markieff Morris doesn't want to lose money for fighting, gets fined $25000 anyway

It's the playoffs. We were down 2-0.

Bradley Beal and John Wall scored 28 points apiece and the Wizards roughed up Toronto 122-103, cutting the Raptors' lead in their first-round playoff series to 2-1.

It was an uncharacteristically sloppy night the Raptors, who coughed up 28 points on 19 turnovers. If it is true, as they have occasionally said, that they like being doubted, this was a game that will rekindle some of those feelings. But a lot of it was their intensity.

Beal did not disappoint them with 21 points in the first half, on his way to 28 points for the game.

"When they play at that level, they are really good", Raptors' point guard Kyle Lowry said of the Wall-Beal tandem. Jonas Valanciunas contributed 14 points while OG Anunoby added 12 in the loss. Beal remarked how much easier the game is for everyone when Wall plays. "They fed off that", DeRozan said. "They were ready tonight and they took us out of what we wanted to do". Both players were given technicals, but that just set the stage for a chippy game.

DeRozan said the Raptors weren't prepared for the level of aggressiveness they faced. Amid all the ruckus, Beal and Wall kept their heads and helped the Wizards pull further and further away for a 122-103 victory. "Brad got off and played well, John got himself going". After Game 2, he had mentioned the possibility of dropping C Marcin Gortat in favor of F Mike Scott.

Beal's hook shot with three minutes left in the second put the Wizards up by 12 points, and Washington took a 69-61 lead into the dressing room at halftime.

Both players received a technical foul, and Anunoby was also given a common foul for pulling Morris to the floor.

Lowry was assessed a Flagrant 1 foul for smacking Beal on the head. Serge Ibaka then lunged to get at Wall and had to be held back. "[Then] he went into a rage".

"The biggest thing was we were down 2-0".

But after Casey subbed off most of his starters, the Wizards closed the quarter with a 12-2 run, finally bringing a quiet Wizards crowd to life. The Wizards improved defensively as Toronto, who shot 52.4 percent overall and drained 29 threes while shooting 44.6 percent from beyond the arc, hit only 45.1 percent from the floor in this one. But the Washington bench, along with Beal, got the lead back by the end of the period.
