McConnell told Fox News Neil Patrick Cavuto that he won't allow a bill to protect Mueller.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made clear that he has no intention to allow a vote on a bill created to protect the special counsel Robert Mueller from being fired by President Donald Trump.
McConnell said that while he wouldn't support Mueller's removal, he doesn't think Trump would take that step. During those 10 days, the government would be forbidden from destroying records or making any other staff changes to the team around the special counsel. "And just as a practical matter, even if we passed it, why would he sign it?"
