Jaguar XE 300 Sport arrives with 296bhp and all-wheel drive
Jaguar has announced the 2019 model-year upgrades for its XE, XF and XF Sportbrake, headlined by the addition of new four-cylinder, all-wheel drive 300 Sport models.
The special-edition model is powered by the most potent version of Jaguar's four-cylinder petrol engine, the 2.0-litre Ingenium, producing 295lb ft of torque. Unlike the XE S which features rear-wheel drive, grunt from the four-cylinder is funneled to all four wheels, allowing the sedan to reach 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) in 5.4 seconds.
"They get Dark Satin Grey for the mirrors, rear spoiler and grille surround - as well as "300 SPORT" badges - 19" or 20" alloys in Technical Grey, "300 SPORT" brake calipers, yellow contrast stitching inside as well as branded treadplates, sport mats and embossed headrests.
Like the rest of petrol XE range, it features a new particulate filter that can capture ultra-fine particles and oxidise them into CO2.

The British firm has introduced the 300 Sport trim level to its XE, XF and XF Sportbrake - with the first of those competing against gold medallist Shaolin Sándor Liu in a head-to-head lap time battle around the world's longest artificial outdoor ice circuit in Flevonice, the Netherlands. Sandor Liu negotiated the track in 4 minutes and 4 seconds but with Jaguar stability develpoment leader Sean Haughey behind the wheel, the vehicle set a blistering 3 minute and 3 second lap at an average of 59 km/h (36 mph).
