Nokia 8 Sirocco launched in India set to disrupt premium smartphone segment

However, we have waited for Nokia 9 for such a long time, and we hope the wait will be well worth it.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco is yet another Android One smartphone announced by HMD Global at this year's MWC. The buzz is that the company may launch the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 8 Sirocco in India.

So unless if you can actually read the whole thing in the image, the PDF file there reads that the Nokia 9 is a serious flagship with some badass specifications.

Though we are not pretty sure, whether recently launched Nokia 8 Sirocco should be deemed as the true flagship of HMD Global (as it was previously thought to be the Nokia 9) or not. Ahead of the event, several leaks and rumours had surfaced on the internet but the handset did not make its way into the launch event.

The full specs sheet of the Nokia 9 was first shared by the Finnish-language blog SuomiMobili.

The purported Nokia 9 specs sheet reveals some very heavyweight specs including a Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8 GB of RAM, Gorilla Glass 5, an 18 karat gold finish on the back panel, IP68 rating, and most importantly a triple camera setup.

HMD Global is now rumoured to introduce the Nokia 9 by the end of this year. The new Nokia 6 has an aluminum case and comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p FHD 16:9 display. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 430 processor and comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Rival vendors will have to up the game to compete with the Nokia 9 triple camera system. The second, 20-megapixel sensor is said to be coupled with a telephoto lens OIS, 1-micron pixels, and an f/2.4 aperture. The camera sensors are expected to be 41-megapixel sensor.

The smartphone will come with a 12MP rear camera and also has a 16MP front-facing camera along with an f/2.0 aperture. On the other hand, the device will also feature a 21MP sensor at the front with an f/1.8 aperture with Carl Zeiss optics for selfie lovers. The phone offers a couple of major upgrades such as 360-degree OZO Audio and Dual-Sight tech to compose Bothies. The phone has internal storage of 64GB which can be expanded up to 256GB. What is hard to believe is the "in-glass fingerprint scanner" listed on the sheet. It would support QuickCharge 4.0 technology that delivers 60% battery charge in just 30 minutes. The device is kept powered on by a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support. The device measures 133.6 x 67.78 x 9.5 mm and weighs 131 grams. The company also confirmed that the Nokia 3 and Nokia 2 will soon receive the Android 8.0 Oreo OTA updates. Having said that, the specs list is an official one and HMD Global has not provided any details or confirmation, so it's advisable to take this leak with a pinch of salt.
