Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov yesterday accused the United Kingdom and Western partners of playing "children's games" in their response to the poisoning of ex-spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter.
The Russian side also wants to know what kind of assistance from the OPCW technical secretariat was asked by London, whether it requests to verify the very fact of the use of a nerve agent or to conform that it was a Novichok-class substance.
The Foreign Ministry's request came on the same day that Russian diplomats and their families returned to Moscow on two planes after being expelled from the United States, part of the worldwide fallout from the March 4 attack on the Skripals. The US alleged the 60 diplomats were "spies" and sent them home from posts around the country and at the Russian mission to the United Nations, as well as closing Russia's consulate in Seattle.
Mr Turnbull said Russian Federation could not justify its actions, adding that the staff expelled from Australia's embassy were "fulfilling their diplomatic and consular functions in accordance with the Vienna Conventions on diplomatic and consular relations". Britain claims it was the Soviet-manufactured nerve agent Novichok and has said Russian Federation is likely responsible, which Moscow adamantly denies. Commenting on the current situation, the UN General Secretary said that the situation resembles what we lived during the Cold War. However the furious diplomatic war between Russia and Britain showed no sign of abating as Moscow's embassy in London urged Russians to think carefully before travelling to the United Kingdom or sending children to summer school there.

Putin, Rouhani, Erdogan To Meet In Turkey On April 4
Turkish state news agency Anadolu described the six men expelled from Kosovo as senior individuals in the Gulen movement. The decision to dismiss the interior ministry and intelligence chief was a domestic issue in Kosovo, Gul said.
Moscow responded by expelling 60 USA diplomats and closing Washington's consulate in Saint Petersburg.
Gough specified that the expulsion of the Russian diplomats is not just the act of the solidarity with the United Kingdom, "it is also a clear response to the fact which we consider as the threat to our collective security". Russian Federation has ordered an equal number of most of those countries' diplomats to leave and for Britain to reduce the staff at its Moscow embassy to the same number that Russian Federation maintains in London.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also submitted questions to British and French authorities on Saturday.
Russian Federation had earlier expelled 23 British diplomats and last week told envoys from 23 other countries that some of their staff must go home.
