Asif took to twitter to express his views after a press conference held earlier today by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan who had disclosed the names of his party members who had sold their votes in the recently held Senate elections.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has made a decision to expel its lawmakers who voted in Senate polls, contrary to the party policy, after allegedly receiving huge sums of money.

Khan lauded other members of his party who "resisted the temptation" to take large sums of money offered to them by other parties.

Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza lamented that unfortunately, those who sold their votes and those who bought them were parliamentarians.

The PTI MPAs who joined other parties or announced their disassociation from PTI include Ziaullah Afridi, Javed Nasim, Deena Naaz, Wajeehul Zaman, Babar Salim, Jamshed Mohmand, Qurban Ali Khan, Zahid Durrani, Ubaid Ullah Mayar and Nagin Khan. "We will send the names of these members to NAB for an investigation if they won't respond to the show-cause notices", he added.

Khan claimed that PTI, by expelling almost "30 per cent of its leaders", was "truly protecting the sanctity of the vote" and wondered if other political parties will follow suit. "This is why Imran Khan is a hope of Pakistan".

"Everyone knows loyalties are sold in elections but no institution initiates action against those involved".

Some analysts had pointed out that making names public would stoke differences within the party, opening doors of conflict for Khan and K-P Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.

The Senate elections held on March 3 for 52 seats were marred by the allegations of horse-trading as all the major political parties raised concerns over alleged purchase and selling of votes.
