A second walk-through was conducted and Douglas was found stuffed in a closet and concealed with clothing and other various items, according to Wadsworth Police Chief Randy Reinke.

The suspect's identity hasn't been released because he is a juvenile and has not been formally charged in connection with Douglas' death.

Investigators are still awaiting the results of an autopsy but believe Douglas was strangled, Reinke said.

Relatives had reported the widow missing telling police she was last seen on April 5.

"I think any entry would have been easy to just go in through one of the doors", he said. An out-of-town relative called police after learning that Douglas' friends had not been in contact with her for almost four days. They located the suspect and took him into custody without incident at around 3:30 p.m.

Medina County Prosecutor S. Forrest Thompson said Tuesday he was "not ready" to say whether the teen, who is being held at the Medina County Juvenile Detention Center, might be tried as a juvenile or an adult.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, the body of 98-year-old Margaret Douglas was discovered in her Wadsworth home on April 9, almost a week after friends reported hearing from her for the last time.

Investigators say the teenager lives close by in the neighborhood and, although he did not have a relationship with Douglas he may have known that she lived alone at her home following the death of her husband in 2000.

According to the most recent report available, a cause of death for Douglas had not yet been confirmed by medical examiners.

The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor's office, "who will determine the exact charges to file against the suspect".

Local authorities were assisted by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations as they searched the scene for evidence.
