Director David Leitch has booked his 2019 project, Ubisoft Motion Pictures' The Division. Not only is he now hard at work ensuring that Deadpool 2 is ideal before its release (which if the trailers are anything to go by, it is), but he's also already got a lot of future projects lined up.

The news comes just months after it was announced that he's also on board to direct the "Fast and Furious" spinoff starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.

Here's hoping that The Division movie can emphasise the stark nearly bleak tone of the game in addition to all the shooty shooty stuff. Gold and Syriana director Stephen Gaghan was previously set to helm The Division, but has since departed the project.

David Leitch is to direct Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal in "The Division". It's unclear though on when they are looking to start production on this film as Leitch is also a busy man with Atomic Blonde 2 reportedly in development and the director set to be direct a Hobbs and Shaw spin-off as well. The game generated more than $330 million in sales in its first five days, becoming the fastest selling project Ubisoft has ever released. It managed to make over $330 million worldwide in its first week of release which is insane money. The story certainly lends itself very well to the cinema.

Developed and published by Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment with assistance from Red Storm Entertainment, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, the third-person shooter quickly became the fastest-selling new IP in video game history after its initial launch.
