Raikkonen had entered the pits to try and put pressure on Mercedes
Ferrari mechanic Francesco Cigorini suffered a broken leg when he was run over by Kimi Raikkonen during a pit stop in the Bahrain Grand Prix.
After the race, Scuderia Ferrari released an update on their twitter page, detailing that the crew member - only identified by the name of Francesco - had suffered fractures to his shinbone and fibula.
Kimi Raikkonen has given his version of events following a botched Ferrari pit stop that left a mechanic hospitalised. A mechanic's leg was in front of the auto and appeared to get broken pretty badly.
"First and foremost, I wish our mechanic a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the track soon, " Marchionne said in a statement.
Ferrari have declined to say what went wrong to cause their pit system to trigger the green light until governing body the FIA has completed its investigation into the incident.
