Turkey says not siding with anyone on Syria policy different from Iran Russia US
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Wednesday that the country will hold snap parliamentary and presidential elections on June 24, more than a year earlier than they were due to take place.
The sides plan to discuss Bahceli's proposal to hold early presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey, the Turkish media reported.
Both presidential and parliamentary elections will be held on the same day, and will change Turkey's political system from parliamentary rule to placing sweeping powers in the hands of the president.
Talking at Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Istanbul, Turkey, Mr. Erdogan said that Turkey allowed 3.5 million people from Syria during the process whereas imperial powers failed to take anyone.
"As result of consultations with Mr Bahceli, we chose to hold elections on June 24, 2018, a Sunday", said Erdogan.
"Even though the president and government are working in unison, the diseases of the old system confront us at every step we take", he said in a speech broadcast live on television.

Cabinet passed the motion as recommended by Turkey's National Security Council, said Bozdag, adding that after approval from parliament, the seventh extension of the state of emergency will come into effect on April 19. "It therefore demonstrates a sign of weakness on the part of the (ruling party) leadership", he said.
The polls in June will give Erdogan a chance to extend his stay in power with a new five year mandate, after already serving 15 years in power as premier and then president.
The move comes to end their state of emergency.
MHP leader since 1997, Bahceli is seen as a kingmaker in Turkish politics and has played a role in some key moments of its modern history.
