With the high level of vitriol still emanating from Democrats over the results of the 2016 presidential election, a lawsuit was inevitable.
The Democratic Party sued Russia, Republican President Donald Trump's campaign and WikiLeaks on Friday, charging that they conspired to disrupt the 2016 USA presidential election, a court filing showed.
According to the court documents, the DNC also claims president's son Donald Trump Jr. secretly communicted with the WikiLeaks platform.
CNBC reported the complaint alleges the "common objective of the scheme" was to "bolster Trump and denigrate the Democratic Party nominee", Hillary Clinton.
The #Democratic National Committee (DNC) is taking the next steps in responding to the reported election meddling by Russian Federation.
"The conspiracy constituted an act of previously unimaginable treachery: the campaign of the presidential nominee of a major party in league with a hostile foreign power to bolster its own chance to win the presidency", the DNC writes in the suit.

The lawsuit, should it go forward, seems likely to help keep the spotlight on the issue of Russian election interference and possible collusion by the Trump campaign. The lawsuit outlines almost every known communication between Trump advisers and Russians.
Thousands of hacked emails and other DNC documents were published on the eve of the Democratic Party convention in July 2016 and drew global media attention during the tense presidential race between Clinton and Trump.
